Direct Debit Scheme Rules – Jargon Buster

Direct Debit payments are covered by the scheme rules relevant to them. Ireland is a member of the SEPA zone, and the SEPA Direct Debit Rules apply where both the Originator and the Payer are located within SEPA. This can include direct debits within the Republic of Ireland.

Please note

The SEPA Direct Debit Scheme Rules replaced the Irish Direct Debit Scheme on 1 February 2014.
