Identification documents needed to open a current account
To open a bank account at a branch you need to provide at least one form of photo ID and one proof of address. If opening the account online you require your passport book, Irish passport card, an Irish or UK driving licence card, your EU national identity card, a Selfie(picture of you) and proof of your address.
Please note the name on the photo ID must match the name on your proof of address.
Online application
To complete your application you must upload or take picture of:
- Either your passport book(with photo page open), Irish passport card, an Irish or UK driving licence card or your EU national identity card
- A Selfie (a picture of you)
- Proof of Address
Helpful Tips:
- make sure all four corners of your ID are showing
- make sure your ID is valid and in date
- names and addresses must match on the documents you are providing
- e-statements must include the company logo
- check your file size does not exceed 10MB, you may need to resize your document before uploading.
- If there are 2 sides to your ID or PPSN evidence, make sure to convert it to 1 file e.g., PDF
