Online payments (for more than one item) to merchants who send good or services in multiple shipments

Some online orders are charged separately as the goods and services are dispatched in multiple shipments. Bank of Ireland will apply the charges from the merchant to your account as they arrive and in line with the communication from the merchant to you. However on very rare occasions, some merchants may not make it clear that there is another payment to be debited from your account. Customers should be aware of this and to leave sufficient funds in their account to cover the balance of their order and to cover the total value of their spending on their Visa debit Card.

For Example: If you are buying from multiple suppliers on sites like Amazon, this may mean that more than one payment could appear on your account but these should add up to the total value of your purchase.
