Bank of Ireland announces three-year Sponsorship of Katie Taylor
<pSunday 7 December 2014: Bank of Ireland announced that it has signed a three-year sponsorship contract with Katie Taylor, the reigning Irish, European, World and Olympic boxing champion. Recently home from winning her fifth consecutive World Championship in South Korea, Katie will act as brand ambassador for the Bank and will front its advertising campaign for its foreign exchange products.
The campaign strap-line ‘Being competitive isn’t enough’ features Katie in both print and broadcast advertising espousing on what it takes to succeed at international level – a competitive edge and the right people in the corner. Similar to her obvious competitiveness, commitment, passion and drive to be No 1 with 17 gold medals won to date, Bank of Ireland wants to be the No 1 Foreign Exchange provider, offering not just competitive prices, but a wealth of market leading expertise and advice from its dealing room.
In addition to agreeing a significant advertising campaign over the three-year period, the package includes a number of appearances at Bank events and she will wear the brand logo where possible.
Commenting John Moclair, Head of Retail Treasury Sales, Bank of Ireland Global Markets said: We are very pleased to have the support of someone of the calibre of Katie Taylor to head up our foreign exchange campaign. Her ambition and commitment to constantly improve and stay at the top of her sport is very much aligned with our own aims to continuously enhance our offering to give our customers the best full service foreign exchange offering. We are all hugely proud of Katie and wish her continued success ”.
