Bank of Ireland Business On Line wins at Global Finance Awards
Secure mobile authentication app KeyCode to launch this month
The Bank of Ireland has been named Best Corporate/Institutional in Western Europe for Information Security Initiatives 2017 by Global Finance. The awards are a much recognised and trusted standard of excellence in the industry.
The award was based on a series of security initiatives and channel enhancements over the past 18 months in respect of the Bank’s online platform for business and corporate customers, Business On Line.
This latest initiative, Bank of Ireland KeyCode, will replace existing security features on Business On Line with one new simple solution. KeyCode is a secure mobile authentication app that generates unique one-time codes, which will be used for logging on, authorising payments and authenticating payees. Bank of Ireland will be the first to market this in Ireland. This innovative solution will offer an easier, more convenient experience to our business and corporate customers, while ensuring high security.
Global Finance award winners were selected based on criteria including strength of strategy for attracting and servicing digital customers, success in getting clients to use digital offerings, growth of digital customers, breadth of product offerings, evidence of tangible benefits gained from digital initiatives, and web/mobile site design and functionality. Global Finance also considered input from a panel of experts and feedback from industry analysts, corporate executives and technology specialists.
Neil Kelly, Head of Business Digital, Bank of Ireland, said “Bank of Ireland is committed to providing best-in-class when it comes to online security and to have this recognised by Global Finance is a great endorsement. We will continually adapt and invest in our technology to ensure that we offer a service to our business and corporate customers that they can have confidence in.”
