New Ireland Assurance celebrates Centenary

New Ireland Assurance, the Life and Pensions business of Bank of Ireland Group last night celebrated its 100th anniversary in front of Minister Michael D’Arcy, industry representatives, and colleagues past and present from across the Bank of Ireland Group.

New Ireland is one of the country’s leading life, pensions and investments companies, with a national presence of 800 people. New Ireland was founded on the 5th January 1918, with the original office based on O’Connell Street. Its roots are deeply connected with the foundation of the Irish state and its purpose was to keep Irish money in Ireland for the benefit of Irish businesses and the State.

Speaking at the Centenary Dinner, Minister of State for Financial Services and Insurance Michael D’Arcy TD, said:

“I am delighted to be a part of the celebrations to mark the centenary of New Ireland Assurance. I congratulate all involved in reaching this significant milestone which shows the ability to evolve and innovate and I wish you continued success in the years ahead”

Speaking at last night’s event, New Ireland Managing Director Michael Murphy said:
