Susan Russell, Chief Executive of Bank of Ireland’s Retail Ireland division, joins the Board of Banking and Payments Federation Ireland
15 December 2023 – Susan Russell, chief executive of the Bank of Ireland Group’s Irish retail banking division, has joined the Board of Banking and Payments Federation Ireland (BPFI).
Susan Russell said: “I’m excited to take up this role at such an important time for the financial services sector, which employs over 100,000 people in Ireland and is critical to our economy and society. I look forward to working with my fellow directors and the rest of the BPFI team to ensure that a strong and sustainable retail banking sector continues to support Ireland’s future economic development and its green transition.”
The Retail Ireland division provides a wide range of consumer banking products, services and channels. Along with the provision of mortgages, current accounts and personal loans Retail Ireland includes a 169-strong branch network, the Bank’s ATM network, day-to-day digital banking channels, a network of contact centres, and New Ireland Assurance. More than 4,000 colleagues work in Retail Ireland with activities spread across every county in Ireland.
Susan joined Bank of Ireland in 2000. She has previously held senior positions in Retail Banking, Finance, Digital, Strategy and Operations.
