About Mobile App Alerts (Push Notifications)

Alerts are push notifications that we send to customers’ mobile phones or tablets. Today we send alerts for a number of different reasons. These could be general fraud warnings for example, or to let you know that an action is required through the app, for example if you are logging in to 365 online on your desktop.

Increasingly, we also send alerts when customers do banking tasks within the app, like setting up a standing order. We are expanding the number of actions that trigger an alert to the customer.

Over the course of 2024 we plan to also introduce alerts for Republic of Ireland customers whenever the following happen:

  • Payments or transfers made through the mobile app
  • Payments made through physical credit cards

Alerts are also planned for payments made by customers in both the ROI and UK when using their debit cards.

As well as letting you know whether your own action has been successful or not, alerts are an important way of knowing whether someone is trying to use your account fraudulently.

Alerts are normally sent immediately to your registered device. There can be exceptions, which you can read about through the link below.
