How do I close accounts other than a personal or a business current account?

At the moment, online account closure is only available for personal and business current accounts. If you need to close another type of account  – for example, a savings, credit card or deposit account* - you will need to call in to your local branch.

To close your loan account please contact your local branch to request closure. In order for the loan account to be closed you need to pay the full balance, including any interest accruing. Your local branch can provide you the outstanding balance including interest.

*365 deposit accounts can be closed on 365 Online and Bank of Ireland App using the withdrawal service. If you have a notice, regular saver or demand type deposit, once registered to your account you can use the withdrawal/close service.
