Set up a standing order online
You can set up a new standing order on the Bank of Ireland App or 365 online. You can also view, manage and amend existing standing orders.
Are you sure this is a standing order and not a subscription on your card or a direct debit? If you are unsure our payments tool can help.
- Log in to your account on the Bank of Ireland App.
- Tap 'Payments' on the bottom menu.
- Select 'Standing orders'.
- Choose 'Set up a new standing order'.
- Select an account you want to pay from.
- Enter the payee details, amount, frequency of payment and the start date, and tap 'Continue'.
- Review the details and tap 'Confirm'.
- Enter the 3 requested digits of your 6-digit 365 PIN.
- Swipe to approve.
Once you have successfully added and authenticated your standing order, it will be visible in your list of standing orders on the next working day.
You will need a security device to hand to authenticate a new standing order
- Log in to your account on the 365 online.
- Click 'Payments' on the top menu.
- Select 'Standing orders'.
- Choose 'Set up a new standing order'.
- Select an account you want to pay from.
- Enter the payee details, amount, frequency of payment and the start date, and tap 'Continue'.
- Review the details and click 'Confirm'.
- Enter the 3 requested digits of your 6-digit 365 PIN.
- Tap the notification on your security device to open authentication screen – you will not be asked to log into your security device.
- Swipe to accept. - The notification will disappear from your device automatically or you can tap ‘Done’.
A notification will be sent to the security device quoted on screen.
On your Security device – Smart device
Once you have successfully added and authenticated your standing order, it will be visible in your list of standing orders on the next working day.
