Why is there a €22.50 charge on my credit card statement?

Government stamp duty (GSD) is an annual tax on your credit card that we collect on behalf of the government in respect of the previous tax year.

From 2024, we will be required to collect GSD in January instead of April.

This means that on the 1 January 2024, a reduced amount of €22.50 will be charged to your account for the shorter period from April 2023 to December 2023. From 1 January 2025, the charge will revert to €30 each year.
