Unsuccessful future dated payment

The more common reasons are explained below in more detail.
Insufficient funds
A future dated payment will be unsuccessful when the funds needed to make a transfer were not available in your account at the time it attempted to process.
- A transfer or cash lodgement credits your account after the future date payment attempted to process.
- The funds in your account were not cleared on your account. For example an amount from a cheque lodgement may not be included in your cleared funds at the time the future date payment attempted to process.
Exceeded daily limit
A future dated payment will be unsuccessful when it and all other payments that day is greater than your daily transfer limit of €20,000/£20,000.
- For example if your future dated payment is €3,000 and you have already made transfers of €19,000 the future dated payment will be unsuccessful.
Exceeded daily SMS limit
- A future dated payment will be unsuccessful when it and all other payments that day is greater than your daily payee limit of €10,000/£10,000 for payees activated by text (SMS).
- Any payee activated using a security code sent by text (SMS), will have a payee transfer limit of €10,000/£10,000 (with the exception of Bills). To increase a payee limit click here.
